I found their number on the internet and after informing them of the units that we had they came back with a very competitive quote. We had been using another company but the owner decided to move to Bristol so had to find someone else. Very lucky that the search engine found  EHF and  Ellie  who I spoke to sent the quote virtually within 1 hour of conversation. The technician who was Alexander came as promised between 8.00 am and 11.00 am and carried out a full check and clean on the 3 units and sent us the reading for all within 2 hours. No problems and all filters etc cleaned and batteries check in remotes etc. We will certainly be using EHL again. Thank you so much for a Efficient service ! What is an Electrical Certificate ?

An electrical certificate examines the condition of the electrical wiring throughout your property and checks if an installation meets the current safety standards – BS7671. When the inspection is completed you are issued with an electrical certificate known as an Electrical Installation Condition Report. This document will outline whether your installation is satisfactory or whether any issues have been found.

It identifies potential issues or non compliance with current regulations helping to prevent electrical faults, fires and shocks.

Landlords are legally required to obtain an electrical certificate every 3-5 years in order to comply with rental safety regulations while homeowners and businesses benefit from routine checks to ensure safety and electrical efficiency.

What to Expect During the Inspection

When you book an electrical certificate with us, our experienced engineers will carry out the following tests:

Visual Inspection – Our electricians check the overall condition of electrical installations, looking for visible defects or hazards that are a risk to your safety.
Functional Testing – We carry out in-depth tests to assess the wiring, circuit breakers, earthing, insulation resistance and RCD functional tests. Some tests may require switching off the power for a short time to ensure accurate results.
Earthing and Bonding – the engineer will check that the pipework or exposed metallic parts are correctly earthed.
Checking Your Main Power Supply – The engineer will check the main incoming supply for safety.
Identifying Issues – Any issues found are categorised as:
- C1 (Danger Present) – Immediate action is required.
- C2 (Potentially Dangerous) – Urgent remedial work is recommended.
- C3 (Improvement Recommended) – Not immediately dangerous but requires attention.
- FI (Further investigation is needed) – More in depth testing is required to identify the exact fault.
